Long Wire "beam" antenna

Postby Tasle » 22. April 2010 15:54

A long wire antenna formed as a horizontal V, the long wire (at least 1 λ long) will act as a "beam" antenna in the direction of the open end of the V. The gain is in the order of 3 dBd, and this antenna is very suitable for temporarily use like on a field day.

The antenna impedance is quite high and a ):1 balun and tuner will be necessary to make it work without problems.
